End of a Decade

The time between Christmas and New Years always seems like the strangest time of year to me.

Especially, this year.

We are approaching the end of a decade and entering an entirely new one. Pretty exciting stuff, but what does this mean for making New Years resolutions? Go all out and make some “decade” resolutions along side the year 2020 resolutions? I’m thinking why not? Where do I see myself in 10 years? What are my short term goals for 2020 and where do I want to be in 10 years? Ponder that.

I’m going to share with you my favorite New Years Eve tradition that my husband and I have. Each year, we both take small pieces of paper and write one resolution per piece. As many as we want! We put them in a small tin box and tuck it away for the year. Then the next time New Years Eve rolls around, we read the resolutions from the year before, discuss them, and give ourselves a pat on the back for the ones we accomplished. It’s fun to do this together. As a married couple, I also appreciate it in the way it gives us to connect on what our goals are year after year and see that we are still on a path that brings us together. Maybe indulge in a little New Years champagne in front of the fire while we’re at it.

I want to thank you for reading and most importantly wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year! May all your resolutions become reality!

XO, Nico
