Favorite Fashion Resources

Hey all! I missed a week last week due to being horribly sick with my toddler. I was a slug as I nursed my wounds and healed. Sometimes you just gotta take care of yourself and let a few priorities slide. I’m excited to share with you my favorite fashion resources! As women, I think it is important to share these awesome finds. We all could use a little help or just a little inspiration, ya know?

Pinterest. Whenever I need some inspiration, this is my jam. Sometimes I’ll wonder to myself, “What shoes do I want to wear with my faux leather leggings?” “What is the popular hairstyle for Summer 2020?” “What do I wear with a tulle skirt?” BOOM. Ideas galore.

Poshmark. I love Poshmark. I have nabbed my favorite brands on here for slammin’ deals. Born, Paige, Hudson, Free People, Petunia Pickle Bottom, Michael Kors, etc. Normally, I see a top at Nordstrom or Free People and I find the name of the top and look it up on Poshmark. I find it for way less and I am a happy girl. More than that, my husband is thrilled that I am being so suave.

Nordstrom Trunk Club. Aside from loving everything about Nordstrom in general, sometimes when I need some inspo I hit up Trunk Club. Of late, I scheduled a trunk for some assistance with finding a dress for my sister’s bridal shower as well as other tops for a vacation. I love having someone else pick some stuff out for me. I get to try it on and LOVE when I find items that I wouldn’t have selected for myself.

6pm.com. This. Place. Is. Da. Bomb. This is a great place for deals. This is where I go to get my Born shoes for half the price, my Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags, my ASIC sneakers, my Paige or Hudson jeans, you name it they probably have it. Also their deal prices fluctuate so you have to strike while the iron is hot!

Amazon. Amazon clothing is a new route of exploration I have embarked upon. If you are careful with reading reviews I do think you can grab some super cute stuff here for a good price. What I like about Amazon is that when you look up an item, they will also list similar items. Lots of options! Good prices!

Local Boutiques. What I love about local Boutiques is the probability of finding some unique items. They are not usually cheap, but they are worth it. Local Boutiques work hard for their reputation, quality, customer service and merchandise. Usually a delightful shopping experience where you can really find some hidden treasures.

Hey There. It’s Nico.

First I want to say Happy New Year! Thank you for reading my blog! I thought it would be fun to share ten facts about moi. If you can relate to any of them I would love to hear from you! Solidarity!

  • My husband is a musician and we met at one of his gigs in 2008. My mother introduced us.
  • I have 5 sisters. 3 Stepsisters and 2 biological sisters.
  • I have terrible night terrors almost every night. The only thing that has helped is completely cutting caffeine out of my diet AND listening to a meditation before I got to bed called, “I am safe.”
  • I am 50% Greek and the other 50% is a mixture, but mostly Scandinavian.
  • My obsession with true crime has led me to my favorite podcast: My Favorite Murder>>.
  • I have a taxidermy tarantula that I got in Santa Fe, NM as a child. I named him Spud and he has been with me for 25 years and countless moves, despite my arachnophobia and frequent night terrors about spiders.
  • My husband and I went to the same high school, but he is 11.5 years older. In fact, he graduated high school with my 8th grade social studies teacher.
  • My biological sisters and I all have different colored hair…to the extreme. I am a strawberry blonde, my middle sister is a dark brunette, and my youngest sister has dark red, curly hair.
  • I have a Mini Australian Shepherd named Babyface Finnster (Finn) who was named after Baby Face Finster from Looney Tunes.
  • When I had my son, I brought my own hospital gown for the occasion. Purchased from Motherhood Maternity>>, looks like a nice comfy black dress with hidden snaps. It’s all about style, am I right?

My Mascara Journey

Like most of you ladies, I have tried so many types of Mascara. Let’s be honest, a good mascara is hard to find, involves a lot of trial and error and a lot of wasted time and money. My mascara journey has lead me to consistently depend on these four (in no particular order): Caution Extreme Lash Mascara>>, L’Oréal Paris Makeup Telescopic Original Lengthening Mascara>>, Revitalash Mascara>>, and Younique Moodstruck Epic 4D Mascara>>. Why do I love them? Aside from that fact that my eyelashes look fantastic (obviously), I find they don’t dry out (that’s a big deal in Colorado), they don’t flake, they provide length and volume – even without a primer, and they don’t clump. What more could a girl ask for in a mascara?

I just want to touch on the Revitalash for a sec. First, I love this company. Period. They make wonderful products. This company began as the result of one couple’s fight against breast cancer wherein a lash serum was born. I encourage you to check out their website and see what it’s all about.
